Our relationship with our customers is uniquely personal. We help you with important financial matters, and you trust us with detailed personal information. Our commitment includes protecting the personal information we retain about you (referred to as “information” in this notice) when you apply for or obtain a product or service from us to be used primarily for personal purposes.

To a certain extent, all financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business. We continually strive to maintain appropriate security standards – technological, physical and procedural – such as limiting J.J. BEST employee’s access to your information, yet still allowing them to perform their job function. J.J. BEST employees (or team members as we call them) are trained to meet these standards and to treat customer information with care.

At J.J. BEST security is a priority. Our obligation to safeguard your information is taken seriously. The steps we’ve taken to keep that information secure and confidential, along with the choices you have about information sharing, are outlined in this Privacy Statement. In the sections below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’ personal information; the reasons J.J. BEST chooses to share; and how you can limit this sharing. Please read this notice carefully so that you fully understand the policies in place regarding privacy, data security and our commitment to honor it here at J.J. BEST The policies and practices described in this Privacy Notice are subject to change, but we will notify you if there are significant changes. In simplest terms, J.J. BEST will not share your sensitive information with outside companies for the purpose of independently marketing non-financial products and services. Data Collection and Security

I. Why We Collect and Share Information

By knowing more about our customers, we as well as our business partners can provide specialized products and services that may be of interest to you and your family. We may also be able to improve upon your experience when contacting us or using one of our products. Additionally, we may collect and share information to help protect you from identity theft and fraud. For example, we may verify your identity when you open an account with us.

II. We Collect Information about You from the Following Types of Sources;

  • Applications, questionnaires and other forms you submit (information such as your name, address, social security number, assets and income).
  • Our communications with you regarding account activity.
  • Credit bureaus (to determine your eligibility for credit or other financial products).
  • Public sources, including census data and real estate records.
  • List vendors and membership lists, including magazine subscription lists.

III. Our Security Practices

Our Safeguards for Information Confidentiality and Security:

We maintain physical safeguards, such as secure areas in buildings; electronic safeguards, such as passwords and encryption; and procedural safeguards, such as customer authentication procedures to protect against ID theft.
Access to information about you is restricted to authorized employees obtaining that information for business purposes.
We carefully select and monitor the outside companies we hire to perform services for us, such as mail vendors. We require them to keep customer information safe and secure, and do not allow them to use or share the information for any purpose other than the job they are hired to do.
We train our employees on these security procedures.

Information Sharing

We May Disclose Information that We Collect as Described Above to the Following Entities:

  • Financial service providers, such as securities broker-dealers or insurance companies.
  • Non-financial companies and data processors.
  • Carefully selected business partners (e.g., so they can alert you to their products and services).
  • Companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements (CA Residents: Other than as required or permitted by law, we will not disclose information about you to other financial service providers with which we have joint marketing agreements unless you authorize us to do so).
  • Other third parties, including non-profit organizations, as required or permitted by law, or when you permit us to share information about you.
Choices You May Make for Your Privacy

You may choose to limit the way we share information about you. You may also choose to limit the solicitations we send you. These choices are referred to as “opt-outs.”

A. Sharing of Information Outside of the J.J. BEST Family of Companies

If you do not want us to disclose information about you outside the J.J. BEST family of companies, you may choose to opt out of those disclosures. In other words, you may tell us not to share this information and we will not, except in those cases where we may be required or permitted by law. For example, required disclosures may be made to law enforcement and banking regulators, while permitted disclosures may be made to vendors assisting us in opening, maintaining or servicing your account. (CA and VT Residents: To the extent state law applies, we will not disclose information about you outside the J.J. BEST family of companies, except as required or permitted by law.)

B. Use and Sharing of Information Among Companies in the J.J. BEST Family

Affiliate Sharing— We may share your credit information within the J.J. BEST family of companies. Credit information includes financial information you may share with us or credit history that we may obtain from credit bureaus. If you do not want us to share your credit information with other companies in the J.J. BEST family, you may choose to opt out. (VT Residents: To the extent state law applies, we will not disclose credit information about you within the J.J. BEST family of companies except as required or permitted by law.) If you opt out, we will not share your credit information with other companies in the J.J. BEST family.

Affiliate Marketing—Companies in the J.J. BEST family may market their products and services to you based on information received from other companies in the J.J. BEST family. This may include any information collected about you including your income, your account history, and your credit score. If you would like to limit the offers you may receive based on this shared information, you may choose to opt out. If you opt out, we will not market products or services to you based on information received from other companies in the J.J. BEST family except as expressly permitted by law. This limitation will not apply in certain circumstances, such as if you ask to receive information from a J.J. BEST company.

C. Limits on Solicitations from Us

You may tell us not to solicit you at your postal mailing address, telephone number or e-mail address. If you elect not to receive marketing offers by postal mail, telephone and/or e-mail, please note that we may continue to contact you as necessary to service your account and for other non-marketing purposes. We may also continue to provide marketing information in your regular account mailings and statements.

D. How to Opt-Out

Your opt-out choices will continue to apply until you tell us to change them, except with respect to limits on solicitations which we will honor for the time periods required by law. If you have previously opted out based on a J.J. BEST notice and would like to keep the same preferences you do not need to opt out again.

Joint/Multiple Accounts: Your opt-out choices will apply to all of your consumer accounts within the J.J. BEST family of companies, including joint accounts. For a joint account, an opt-out choice made by any joint account holder will apply to all account holders.

Applicants: Unless otherwise notified, applicants who do not become our customers may not make certain privacy elections.

Making sure information is accurate

Keeping your information accurate and up to date is very important to us. If your information is incomplete, inaccurate or not current, please use the Contact Us option on our Site, or call or write to us at the telephone numbers or appropriate address for changes listed on your records. We may provide links to non-J.J. BEST websites, such as credit bureaus, merchants, auction companies, dealerships or other affiliates.
